While many if not most people work for someone else, not everyone wanting to make money has to have a job. There are many ways to make money.
Many years ago I taught a workshop for single adults with disabilities and single mothers. Some had never had a job. Part way through the workshop the group would brainstorm, come up with all kinds of crazy ideas on how they could make $50.00 in a week. I would then give them an assignment. They had to find a way to make $50.00 in a week and bring in proof and I would match it. It had to be legal, moral, and ethical, but most were able to do it. For many, it was an eye opening experience that they had the power to make money.
You may want to try something similar with some friends. Talk about ways you can make money. Make if fun. Come up with silly ideas. Any idea is OK during the brainstorming. Usually during the brainstorming part of the activity, many people came up with illegal, immoral, and unethical, ideas. That was OK, we wrote them all down and laughed about them. However; when they did the challenge, it had to be legal, moral, and ethical.
It doesn't have to be $50.00. Make is something small that people think they can do but which will stretch them and make them work for it.
Some people who took the challenge found themselves self-employed and immediately left the group because they were too busy working and making money... that was fine. That was our objective.
I remember one woman who started a profitable candle business. Others did other things.
The point is you do not have to have a job to make money. You can provide a service and be paid. You can produce a product and sell it. You can make or grow something. You can purchase an idem one place and take it to another place where it's needed and sell it for more than you paid.
There are many resources on this page that may help.
Good luck. Please make comments on what you try and what works to help others.
